Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Miya asks you to write about your life — your days, your people, your worries, the future you are hoping for. We know that is intimate, and we have built the app so that as little of it as possible leaves your device, and none of it is kept on our servers.

This Privacy Policy explains how Miya, developed by Eversince ("we," "us," or "our"), handles information when you use the Miya application. Eversince, 44 C Rue François Coillard, 18000 Bourges, France, is the data controller. You can reach us at miya@eversince.io.

2. The Short Version

  • No sign-up, no email, no password. Your account is a random identifier.
  • Your written profile is sent out only at the moment a ritual is generated, and is not stored on our servers.
  • Your audio, playlists, listening history, streaks, vision board, and photos never leave your device.
  • No analytics, no advertising, no trackers.
  • We never see your payment details — Apple handles payment entirely.
  • Deleting the app deletes everything.

3. Your Anonymous Account

Miya has no sign-up flow. The first time you open the app, it silently creates an anonymous account with our backend, identified by a randomly generated identifier (a UUID). We do not ask for, and do not have, your name as an account identifier, your email address, your phone number, or a password.

That UUID is the only identifier that links your device to our service. You can see it in Settings, and you may quote it to us if you contact support. It is not linked to your Apple ID, your device's advertising identifier, or any other identity.

Because the account is anonymous and device-bound, there is currently no way to log in on another device and no way to sync your content. Deleting the app abandons the account.

4. Information You Provide

During onboarding — and afterwards, whenever you edit your profile — you can tell Miya:

  • Your first name
  • Your age (optional)
  • Your gender
  • Your city
  • A description of what your current days look like
  • A private worry
  • Your relationship status, your partner's first name, and what you love about them
  • The first names and relationships of people close to you
  • What matters most to you
  • A free-text description of your dream life

You write all of this yourself, and you can edit or clear it at any time in the app. It is used for one purpose: to generate rituals, playlists, and an archetype reading that sound like your life rather than a generic script.

Some of what you choose to write may reveal sensitive information — about your health, your beliefs, or your relationships. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing. By entering this text you consent to it being processed as described in this policy, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing your profile or deleting the app.

5. What Stays on Your Device

The following never leaves your device and is never uploaded to us or to anyone else:

  • All generated ritual audio and playlists
  • Your listening history and streaks
  • Your vision board, including every photo in it
  • Any photos you attach to the people in your life
  • All of your app preferences and settings

Photos are never uploaded anywhere. If the app asks for access to your photo library, it is so you can place an image on your own vision board on your own device — nothing more. Uninstalling the app deletes all of this permanently.

6. What Leaves Your Device, and When

The text of your profile is sent out at one moment only: when a ritual, playlist plan, or archetype reading is being generated for you. The flow is:

  1. Your app sends the profile text to our backend, authenticated by your anonymous account.
  2. Our backend passes that text to our AI provider, which writes the playlist plan and the ritual script.
  3. The script text is passed to our voice provider, which synthesizes the spoken audio.
  4. The finished audio is returned to your device and stored there.

Our servers do not store your profile or your generated content. The text passes through in order to be processed, and is not retained by us afterwards.

The only records kept on our side are anonymous rate-limit counters: the number of generation requests made per account identifier and per IP address. These exist so that the service cannot be abused or run up unbounded costs. They contain no profile content.

7. IP Addresses

When your app contacts our backend, your IP address is visible to it, as it is with any internet request. We process it transiently for one purpose — abuse prevention and rate limiting — as a count of requests. We do not use IP addresses to profile you, to locate you, or to link your requests to your identity.

8. Service Providers

We rely on a small number of processors to make Miya work. This is the complete list:

  • Supabase — hosts our backend and your anonymous account. Receives your profile text at generation time; does not store it. Holds the anonymous account identifier and the rate-limit counters described above. Privacy policy
  • OpenAI — receives your profile text in order to generate playlist plans and ritual scripts. Sent through their API without your account identifier. Privacy policy
  • ElevenLabs — receives the generated script text in order to synthesize it into speech. It does not receive your raw profile or your identifier. Privacy policy
  • RevenueCat — manages subscriptions. Receives your Apple purchase receipt and your anonymous account identifier. Receives none of your profile content. Privacy policy

Each provider processes data on our instructions under a data processing agreement, and their own handling of it is governed by their published privacy policies, linked above.

If we later add a service provider — for example a crash-reporting tool to help us diagnose app failures — we will update this list before doing so, and any such provider will be limited to the purposes described in this policy.

9. What We Do Not Do

Miya contains no analytics SDK, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no crash reporting. We do not measure your behaviour in the app, we do not build a profile of you for marketing, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Because we do no tracking, the app does not need to show you Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not permit our providers to use it to train theirs.

10. Subscription & Payment Data

Miya Premium is purchased through Apple In-App Purchase. All payment processing is handled directly by Apple. We never collect, store, or have access to your payment information — card numbers, billing addresses, and Apple ID credentials are never visible to us.

Apple provides a purchase receipt, which we pass to RevenueCat together with your anonymous account identifier so that the app knows whether your subscription is active. That is the extent of the subscription data we handle.

11. Notifications

Miya can send you one daily reminder. It is entirely optional — you turn it on yourself, and iOS will ask for your permission first. The reminder is scheduled locally on your device; we do not operate a push server and we do not send you notifications remotely. You can turn it off at any time in the app or in your device settings.

12. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — creating your anonymous account, generating your rituals and readings from your profile, and managing your subscription.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — rate limiting and abuse prevention, so the service remains available and its costs stay bounded.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a), and Art. 9(2)(a) where the text you write reveals sensitive information) — the personal reflections you choose to type into the app. You can withdraw this consent at any time by clearing your profile or deleting the app.

13. Data Retention

  • On your device: kept until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. You are in full control.
  • Your profile text: not retained on our servers. It is processed in transit for generation and not stored by us.
  • Rate-limit counters: kept only as long as needed for the rate-limit window they serve, then discarded.
  • Your anonymous account record: remains in our backend until deleted. If you uninstall the app, the account is abandoned; you can also ask us to delete it (see Section 15).
  • Subscription records: retained by RevenueCat and Apple for as long as required to manage your subscription and meet their own legal obligations.

14. International Transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, that transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards under the GDPR — typically the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and where applicable a valid adequacy decision. 15. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to request correction or deletion of your data
  • Right to object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (CCPA) — we do neither

How to exercise them. Because your profile and content live on your device, most of these rights are exercised directly in the app: you can view, edit, and clear what you have written, and deleting the app erases everything on the device permanently. For anything held on our side — your anonymous account record or your subscription record — write to miya@eversince.io and include the identifier shown in Settings, so that we can find the right record.

Please note: because your account is anonymous, the identifier from Settings is the only way we can match a request to a record. If you have already deleted the app and no longer have the identifier, we may be unable to identify any data as yours, in which case we can no longer act on a request about it (GDPR Art. 11).

If you are in the EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In France, that is the CNIL — www.cnil.fr.

16. Children's Privacy

Miya is intended for users aged 16 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us at miya@eversince.io so we can take appropriate action.

17. Security

Data sent between the app and our backend is encrypted in transit. Requests to our backend are authenticated by your anonymous account, and our providers are bound by contract to protect what they process on our behalf. The strongest protection, though, is structural: we keep almost nothing, so there is very little to breach.

Your content on the device is protected by your device's own security. Since your rituals, vision board, and photos are stored locally, anyone with access to your unlocked phone can see them — we recommend keeping a passcode or biometric lock enabled. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is 100% secure.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example if we add a service provider. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and material changes will also be signalled in the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
